Just a little chemistry facts on Essential Oils

Oh how I find all of this so interesting. This is just a tad of what I learned in the CARE Intensive classes from the Chemistry course. I had to work a chemistry problem too. Ugh! Now on to the fun part.

My father, creator of all, knew what He was doing! You see essential oils were inhaled, applied topically, and ingested from the beginning. God’s intentions were for man to constantly inhale these oils. They were always floating in the air. Frankincense for example was treasured more than gold and as we know was one of the gifts brought to baby Jesus. When God created plants His plan was for them to bring healing to us. He said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so”.   ~Genesis 1:24.  You see that is a supernatural thing...God’s supernatural power went into those plants people! These oils have brought healing to my family and some of my friends who decided to take the plunge into the "oil world". I choose to believe these oils are a gift from God! For one thing I sleep better and I am healing emotionally too. I'll be writing on "Emotional Release" in another blog.
Now let's look at how they work. The molecular structure of the essential oils are very tiny, so because of this they are very concentrated. One little drop contains 40 million-trillion molecules. We have 100 trillion cells in our body, so just one drop of an essential oil contains enough molecules to cover every single cell in our body with 40,000 molecules. Applied to the feet it only takes 21 minutes to do this...that is EVERY SINGLE CELL IN OUR BODY...COVERED! That blows my mind!
Molecules are made up of compounds. There are three different compounds and some are found in different essential oils. They are Phenols, Monoterpenes, and Sesquiterpenes. This is chemistry folks!

Let's talk about Phenols first. Phenols create conditions where unfriendly viruses and bacteria cannot live. Their most important feature is that they clean the receptor sites on the cells. If your receptor sites aren't clean, cells can't communicate. Well your body ends up malfunctioning and then comes sickness and we are set up for disease. The following essential oils contain phenols.  Clove is way up there and I can sniff that clove bottle all day! It has a wonderful scent. I put clove in a capsule for Scott, why? It can lower cholesterol!
  • Anise (90%)
  • Clove (80%)
  • Basil (70%)
  • Oregano (70%)
  • Thyme (48%)
  • Calamus or Cane (30%)
  • Cinnamon (25%)
  • Cassia (8%)
The second compound is Monoterpenes. They are found in most essential oils and they offer a variety of healing properties. The most important ability of this compound is the fact that they can reprogram miswritten information in the cellular memory, or DNA. If you have improper coding in your DNA then the cells malfunction and disease will be the result.  Below are a few of the oils that have monoterpenes in them.
  • Grapefruit (92%)
  • Angelica (80%)
  • Frankincense (77%)
  • Cypress (77%)
  • Galbanum (75%)
  • Pine (60%)
  • Rose of Sharon (54%)
  • Juniper (54%)
  • Spruce (50%)
  • Myrtle (37%)
  • Hyssop (30%)
  • Peppermint (11%)

The third compound is Sesquiterpenes. They deliver oxygen to the molecules cells just like hemoglobin does in the blood. Cool! They erase or deprogram miswritten codes in cellular memory. They are designed to find cancer. Super cool! Cancer cells contain misinformation and sesquiterpenes can delete that. This all happens at the same time the oxygen is carried by these molecules. This creates an environment where cancer cells can not reproduce. So cancer cells get hit in two different ways, one disables and one stops growth. Here's a list of some of the oils containing sesquiterpenes. Oh look! Cedarwood is at the top. Scott & I use it for sleep...zzzzzz...
  • Cedarwood (98%)
  • Vetiver (96%)
  • Sandalwood (95%)
  • Patchouli (85%)
  • Ginger (70%)
  • Myrrh (60%)
  • Spikenard (50%)
  • Black Pepper (47%)
All three of these compounds are made to simply restore the body back to its natural state of balance and health. Now that is amazing! Maybe I should show you how to work a chemistry problem now?  Oh never mind...

The factual information from this post came from "Healing Oils of The Bible” by David Steward Ph.D.  Just one of the books used in my CARE Intensive classes.
