Essential Oil Recipes

Here are some awesome recipes you will find useful with an estimated cost (by Beth Monroe) of some of them. The est. cost does not include the $1.00 for the jars.
These are well over the dilution recommendations on the bottle, however, we still find them effective. If you need a stronger dilution, just add a drop after you scoop out your amount of carrier oil.  However, for long term use, dilution is actually best!  And for children and babies, you can dilute even more.  The general rule of thumb for babies/children is to dilute 30:1.  The recommendations below are more potent, so if you are applying to a little one for the first time, I would recommend you add extra carrier.  Use for babies over the age of 6 months only. If these creams are primarily for your kids, you may want to decrease to 5 drops of essential oil.

    • Pain Cream (over 6 years old) - For both superficial and deep joint, muscle pain.
    • I actually use 15 drops each of the oils in the photo plus 15 drops lemongrass to this. It is anti-inflammatory therefore especially helpful to those with arthritis and fibromyalgia. I have had three people post on my Facebook wall about the pain cream helping with their fibromyalgia pain!
    • Frankincense Face Cream - Incredible skin healing properties.  Amazing for fine lines, dark spots, scarring, etc.  I've had a couple of people tell me they had a mole fall off form using frankincense cream.  The recipe below (I can barely read it) with the picture says 1/4 cup whipped coconut oil. I use hand blender. It says on the picture blend together in kitchen aid. I do not have one.  Hand blender works wonderful!
      • ~$5.50 WAY less expensive than some store bought facial creams.
      • Myrrh is great 50/50 with a carrier oil such as grape seed oil. I used this for my husband, Scott’s eczema and in three days it was gone! It is great for dry skin and wrinkles too. I now use it on my face. I love it.

OIL SPRAYS:  Below are some sprays that are great to have on hand. There are some awesome 10 oz stainless steel bottles at Dollar Tree.  Just shake them before use to disperse the oil in the water.
    • Linen Spray: 10 oz water; 6-8 drops of Lavender
      • Spray on linens before bed to promote a restful night's sleep
    • "Fabreeze" Spray: 10 oz water; 6-8 drops of Purification
      • Spray in diaper pail or smelly trash
      • Spray on upholstery/car seats/etc.
    Reminders:
    • Anything with citrus oil should be stored in glass.
    • It's not advised to mix more than one oil blend. Either mix a single with a single or a single and a blend.
    • The only downfall to pre-mixing is that your carrier could expire before you use it all, so I make a batch and keep some for my family and give the rest away divided in small jars. Young Living oils will not expire. Just check the date on your carrier and mix in small containers.
    • Always test a new mix on a small area of skin to make sure there are not sensitivities.
    • Always consult your doctor if you are on prescription or over the counter meds as these oils ARE medicinal.
    • I am most certainly NOT a doctor or nurse and this information is not meant to prescribe, it is simply me sharing information with you!
Remember, “There’s an oil for that"!
