So why did I choose Young Living for my family?
Young Living is the only essential oil company that has the approval of the FDA for internal ingestion. With this approval you can rest assure that applying to your skin is also safe since anything applied to our skin gets into our bloodstream! ((If I can not ingest then why would I put it on my skin?)) Ask yourself what synthetics are added. By the way the FDA allows for labels to be able to say 100% pure as long as only 5% of what's in that bottle is pure oil. Read the labels on YL's bottles first. Cheaper oils that you may see in a drug store, health food store, or Amazon I am sure will say, "Do not ingest." There are some oils that should never be ingested no matter the company. YL bottles have labels that will tell you if they are for ingesting and how to dilute for ingesting. Here is the "Seed to Seal” guarantee. I have been to the YL Lavender Farm in Mona, Utah and saw for myself the "Seed to Seal" process in person!

Seed
Powerful, effective essential oils come from seeds and plants that are verified for their essential oil potential by Young Living experts, partnering with university experts.
Cultivate (They own their own farms!) I like that!
Young Living farms, located around the globe, are dedicated to perfecting the best growing and harvesting methods. Our experts also travel the world visiting our co-op farms to verify that their growing and cultivating processes match our high standards. These operations provide an ongoing source for essential oils that meet Young Living’s demanding quality standards.
Distill
Combining ancient and modern techniques, Young Living is recognized as an innovator in essential oil distillation. We use a gentle, proprietary technique for steam extracting the most effective essential oils, as well as using cold pressing and resin tapping methods for select oils.
Test
Young Living never accepts diluted, cut, or adulterated oils. To guarantee consistent quality, our oils are tested in Young Living’s own internal labs, as well as in third-party facilities, to ensure that they meet stringent specifications, exceed international standards, and contain the optimal levels of natural bioactive compounds.
Seal
Young Living completes the Seed to Seal process in its 107,000-square-foot facility in Spanish Fork, Utah. Using state-of-the-art equipment, each essential oil is carefully bottled into protective amber glass bottles—ready to be shipped to members worldwide.
1. Gas Chromatography—Measures the percentage of constituents (plant chemicals) in the oil.
2. Mass Spectrometer—Identifies the names of each constituent in the oil.
3. Refractive Index—Measures the density of the oil using a concentrated beam of light.
4. Specific Gravity—Measures how heavy the oil is as compared to water.
5. Flash Point—Ignites the oil and tests it against standard flash temperatures.
6. Optical Rotation—Measures the molecular structure of the oil.
